Five shot during San Francisco Halloween party

Five people were shot as a Halloween street party in the California city of San Francisco wound down last night, US police said.

The shootings occurred around 10.40pm local time (6.40am Irish time), as authorities began dispersing thousands of revellers under a new curfew that was aimed at controlling the traditionally-raucous event.
