Syria and Iran 'breaking Lebanon arms ban'

America’s United Nations ambassador has accused Syria and Iran of trying to destabilise Lebanon's democratically-elected government by breaking a UN arms embargo.

John Bolton stressed that Syria’s obligations to respect the arms embargo authorised by the UN Security Council resolution that ended the 34-day Israeli-Hezbollah conflict in August “are particularly important as it is the one country other than Israel that borders Lebanon”.
