A bomb exploded in a crowded street in the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar on today, killing five people and wounding several others, police said.

A bomb exploded in a crowded street in the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar on today, killing five people and wounding several others, police said.

The explosion occurred in a downtown Peshawar street about 10 minutes before iftar, the time for breaking the daily fast during the holy Islamic month of Ramadan, police officer Riaz Khan said.
