A magnitude 4.6 earthquake was felt in south-western Pakistan today, but there were no immediate damage reports.

The moderate strength quake hit at 10.13am local time in Baluchistan province, 340 miles south-west of the city of Peshawar, said Mohammed Akram from the state-run Seismological Centre.

The earthquake was felt in the south-western town of Chaman, near the Afghan border, Akram said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

A magnitude 7.6 quake killed 80,000 in northern Pakistan and its part of Kashmir on October 8, 2005.
