Speeding bus kills 10 ugandan revellers
A speeding bus crashed into a group celebrating a circumcision ritual in eastern Uganda, killing 10 people, including four children.
The group was dancing in the street in Mbale last night behind a young man who was about to be circumcised – a common procession among the Bagisu people in rural Uganda.
“The driver told us that he was negotiating a corner when he saw the dancing group,” said traffic officer Wilson Masaba. The driver used his horn but couldn’t stop in time, he said.
Masaba blamed the crash on speeding.
Mbale is 215 miles east of Kampala.
