Sudan accused of bombing civilians
The United Nations said today that Sudanese government forces have indiscriminately bombed areas of North Darfur in recent weeks, forcing hundreds of civilians to flee their homes.
“Civilians in villages in North Darfur are forced to flee due to indiscriminate aerial bombardment by government aircraft waging a military campaign against rebel groups,” said Jose Diaz, spokesman for UN human rights chief Louise Arbour.
