Six killed as gunmen attack police station

Attackers struck a western Baghdad police station with a mortar and gunfire today, killing six policemen and wounding one other, police said.

The assailants first fired a mortar at the police station inthe Khadra neighbourhood, then drove up to the station in four cars and opened fire with machine guns, said police 1st Lt Maitham Abdel-Razaq.
