A forecast based on the first partial results in Sweden’s parliamentary election today showed the Social Democratic-led bloc in a dead heat with the centre-right opposition alliance, national broadcaster SVT said.

The forecast, based on official results from a third of the voting districts, showed the centre-right opposition with 47.4% of the vote compared to 47.0% for the Social Democrats and their two supporting parties.

Exit polls showed a stronger advantage for the opposition alliance.
