Israeli PM hails Blair as a 'true friend'

Tony Blair was hailed as a staunch ally of Israel tonight after talks in Jerusalem with Premier Ehud Olmert.

But Mr Olmert stressed the two leaders did not always agree on the Middle East and said Mr Blair had frequently urged on him concerns for the plight of the Palestinian people.
