Bermuda braced for hurricane

Bermuda is on hurricane alert today as Tropical Storm Florence intensifies on its path through the open Atlantic towards the tiny British territory.

Florence is expected to reach hurricane strength by the time it reaches Bermuda on Monday, according to forecasters at the US National Hurricane Centre in Miami, Florida, although it is too early to tell whether it will make a direct hit.
