Man held in hunt for Baseline Killer
Police in the US have arrested a man over a sexual assault connected to an investigation of the so-called Baseline Killer, a serial predator who is believed to have killed eight people and to have sexually assaulted 11 women and girls.
The man, whose identity was not released, was arrested in connection with the Baseline Killer attacks, one of two serial killing sprees that have terrorised the Phoenix area in recent months, said Sgt. Andy Hill, a Phoenix Police Department spokesman.
He declined to release any details but he said information would be released during a police briefing later.
In the other recent killings, dubbed the Serial Shooter case, police arrested two men last month in the investigation of more than a dozen shootings, seven fatal.
They have been charged in two fatal shootings.
Both men have pleaded not guilty.
