Dozens of Talibans killed in Afghanistan - Nato

Dozens of insurgents have been killed in an operation by Afghan and NATO forces to clear out Taliban fighters from a volatile district near the main southern city of Kandahar, NATO said today.

NATO troops reported the insurgent losses during fighting on Saturday, the first day of the operation in Panjwayi district, and said many more have been wounded, and a significant number arrested, a NATO statement said.
