British flight attendant assaulted by taxi driver

A taxi driver assaulted a British flight attendant while she was on her way back from a Bangkok pub early today, police said.

Catherine Norman, 34, hailed a taxi on a busy road where many entertainment places are located to return to her hotel in central Bangkok at about 1.30am, said police Lt. Col. Bunyarit Kittithiraphong

“The taxi driver tried to touch and kiss her. She ran away from the car,” Bunyarit said, saying people who saw her crying uncontrollably informed the police.

Police were questioning Norman and have not filed any charges against the taxi driver who was not in police custody.
