Ukraine: No survivors in Russian jet crash

Ukrainian officials have released a statement stating all the people aboard the Russian passenger jet that crashed in Ukraine were believed to be dead.

A Russian news agency also cited Russian officials as saying terrorism had been ruled as a cause of the passenger plane crash over Ukraine today.

Russian emergency spokeswoman Irina Andriyanova said in televised comments: "According to information from Ukrainian officials, the plane most likely was hit by lightning. There was no damage on the ground. After it fell, it broke apart and burst into flames.”

The passenger jet was carrying 170 people when it disappeared from radar screens while flying over Ukraine after sending an SOS message today.
