British troops kill nine in Afghanistan

British troops killed nine suspected insurgents in southern Afghanistan, a military spokesman said today.

The troops targeted the militants with high explosive ammunition in Naw Zad district of the southern Helmand province yesterday, said Maj. Toby Jackman, a spokesman for the Nato-led force.
