Airstrikes kill mother and children in Gaza

Israel pressed ahead with its incursion into the southern Gaza Strip today as airstrikes killed five Palestinians, including a mother and her two children, and tanks rolled to the edge of Rafah, officials said.

Sixteen Palestinians have been killed since Israeli troops and tanks moved into southern Gaza three days ago, part of a month-long offensive in the Mediterranean coastal strip.
