Turkish air force jet crashes
A Turkish air force jet crashed right after take-off today, killing the pilot and two other soldiers on the ground at a central Anatolian air base, the military announced.
The F-5A fighter jet took off from the base in Konya and crashed for an unknown reason, the military said.
The cause of the accident was being investigated.
The US-built jet was one of the Turkish air force’s main jets in the 1970s and 1980s, but has since been replaced by more modern F-16 jets.
