A bus veered off a mountain road and plummeted hundreds of feet into a river in northern Nepal today, killing at least 22 passengers and injuring several more, police said.

A bus veered off a mountain road and plummeted hundreds of feet into a river in northern Nepal today, killing at least 22 passengers and injuring several more, police said.

The bus rolled 650 feet down a bank into the Jalbire River near the village of Chanaute, about 50 miles north-east of the capital Kathmandu, a police official at the scene said.
