Building collapse death toll rises to 14

It is now believed that at least 14 people have been killed following the collapse of a four-storey apartment building in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos.

Up to 180 people were believed living in the building, located in a poor Lagos district, but it was not known how many were there when it suddenly gave way and collapsed last night.

Several trapped people could be heard shouting from inside what was left of the building, witnesses said.
