Japan's top court throws out war shrine appeals

Japan’s top court today threw out two appeals challenging the constitutionality of prime minister Junichiro Koizumi’s visits to a Tokyo war shrine, news reports said.

The Supreme Court rejected two suits filed by relatives of Japan’s war dead and religious leaders, according to Kyodo News agency.
