Man claims to have bomb belt in Sweden

Swedish police evacuated buildings and blocked off streets in a northern Stockholm suburb today, while surrounding a man who claimed to have a remote-controlled bomb tied to his waist.

Witnesses reported seeing a man in the Tensta suburb who claimed to be wearing a bomb belt, police spokesman Stefan Larsson said. Police could not immediately verify whether it was a bomb. A bomb squad unit was at the scene, he said.
