Israeli PM Olmert to visit Jordan
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will visit Jordan on Thursday for talks on reviving stalled Mideast peacemaking, Jordanian and Israeli officials said today.
Olmert will meet with Jordan’s King Abdullah II during his visit of several hours, said Jordanian government spokesman Nasser Judeh.
A royal palace official said the meeting would take place in Amman.
Israeli Embassy press attaché Jacob Raber confirmed the visit, but declined to provide other details.
The prime minister’s trip will be his second to an Arab country since taking office earlier this year.
Olmert held talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak at the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday.
