A wolf has attacked and injured nine people in northern Tajikistan, an emergencies official said today.

The victims, including three women and one child, were admitted to hospital after the attack over the weekend in the Dashti Kozi village, about 160 miles north-east of the capital Dushanbe, said Nazokatsho Sayerabekov, spokesman for the Emergencies Ministry.

The circumstances of the attack weren’t immediately known.

In February, 17 people, including three children, were injured by wolves in the same area.
