Bali bomb suspect says he wants to die

An Islamic militant on trial for the 2005 Bali terror attacks which killed 20 people today told a court he was ready to die a martyr and defended his right to make bombs.

Mohammad Cholily, 28, was one of four suspects on trial at the Bali District Court for the suicide bombings at three restaurants.

ā€œWhat is wrong with people learning how to make bombs?ā€ he told reporters as he arrived at the courthouse in a prosecution minivan.

ā€œI want to meet death. Everybody will die eventually. Why can’t I choose how to die?ā€
