Abbas blocks Hamas decision to appoint militant security chief

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas today vetoed a decision by Hamas to appoint a top militant as a security chief, two of his aides said.

Abbas vetoed the appointment of Jamal Abu Samhadana, who is No.2 on Israel’s wanted list and has been involved in attacks against Israel in the past.
