Police fire on thousands of Nepalese protesters
Nepalese police today fired rubber and live bullets at thousands of protesters who were marching toward the capital Kathmandu where a curfew had been imposed, witnesses and rights group said.
Thousands of people joined the protest and were marching in the Kalanki area on the western edge of Kathmandu.
Police first fired tear gas and then began shooting with rubber and live bullets, said Kunjan Aryal of INSEC-Nepal, a Kathmandu-based rights group.
