A bull ran rampant in a town in southern Portugal today, injuring five people before being shot down by police, a news agency reported.

It was not immediately clear where the bull had come from, or how it got loose on the streets of Albufeira, a village in the tourist region of the Algarve.

Police said five people, including a police officer, were injured, but could not give details of the injuries, according to Lusa news agency.
