Six Palestinians killed in Israeli air strike
Six Palestinian militants were killed and five wounded in an Israeli air strike after nightfall tonight at a militant training camp in central Gaza, Palestinian officials said.
The Israeli military confirmed it carried out an attack against a Fatah camp.
Palestinians said the target was a training camp used by the Abu Rish Brigades, an ad-hoc grouping of breakaways from several militant groups, including Fatah and Hamas. Hospital officials said the bodies of the six killed where badly mangled.
Palestinian officials confirmed that the six dead were Abu Rish militants. They were guarding the camp, located in central Gaza near the site of the former Israeli settlement of Netzarim, south of Gaza City.
The Israeli military said the camp was used for training for weapons use and terror attacks against Israel.
Earlier today, Israeli aircraft fired missiles at a car in northern Gaza, killing two militants. Israel said they had just fired a rocket at Israel.
