'Palestinian bomber killed in West Bank blast'

A Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance to the northern West Bank settlement of Kedoumim tonight, settlers said.

The bomber was the only one killed, they said.

The Israeli military said there was an explosion in a vehicle at the petrol station, and the driver was apparently planning to carry out a suicide attack when his explosives went off prematurely.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
