Moderate quake hits eastern Mediterranean
A moderate earthquake shook east of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus and was also felt on the south-eastern Turkish coast early today.
Turkey’s Kandilli Observatory said there were no injuries or damage.
The quake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 was centred 60 miles off the Turkish coastal city of Hatay and struck at 1.05am (11.05 pm Irish time last night), the observatory said.
The quake was also felt in the eastern Turkish port city of Iskenderun.
