UN meets to discuss Iran nuclear crisis
The five permanent members of the UN Security Council gathered today for their second meeting on the Iran nuclear crisis, and were expected to discuss new proposals aimed at getting Tehran to clear up questions about its disputed programme.
The five diplomats – from Britain, China, France, Russia and the US – were debating ideas to include in a non-binding presidential statement the full council will consider next week. They are sharply divided about the best way to resolve the crisis.
