US president George Bush and Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh today announced their countries had reached agreement on a landmark nuclear deal – a coup for Bush on his first visit to the South Asian nation.

“We have reached an understanding on the implementation of our agreement on civil nuclear co-operation,” Singh said during a joint appearance by the two leaders in New Delhi.
