Algerian editors 'detained for printing Prophet cartoons'
Two Algerian editors have been taken into police custody for publishing caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed that have sparked violent protests in the Muslim world, a media group said today.
Kamel Bousaad and Berkane Bouderbala were detained last week and risk being sentenced to prison terms, Paris-based Reporters Without Borders said. Under Algerian law, people who insult the prophet risk up to five years imprisonment.
