Japan PM hints he may shelve Succession Bill

Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi today hinted he would not push ahead with a bill allowing women to ascend Japan’s imperial throne.

Koizumi said he may “not stick to” plans to submit the bill at the current Parliament session.
