Russia to build 40 nuclear reactors by 2030
Russia’s nuclear agency chief today said that the nation needed to build dozens of nuclear reactors in a massive effort that would require restoring production links with nuclear-related industrial facilities in other ex-Soviet nations.
Sergei Kiriyenko, head of the Federal Atomic Energy Agency, said Russia needed to build about 40 new nuclear reactors in order to bring the share of nuclear energy in the nation’s energy balance to 25%, Russian news agencies reported.
