Israel mobilises troops to evict settlers

Israel is mobilising 4,000 police and troops to forcibly remove Jewish settlers from two unauthorised West Bank outposts, one in the city of Hebron and another in the central West Bank, military officials said today.

The evacuations from Hebron and the outpost of Amona are expected by the beginning of February, the officials said on condition of anonymity since they were not authorised to speak to the press.
