One killed, 11 injured in Spanish gas explosion
A natural gas explosion killed one person and injured 11 today at a four-storey apartment building in Spain’s north-eastern Catalunya region.
The blast occurred while workers were trying to fix a leak in a gas pipe in a street in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, the Catalan government civil protection department said.
One of the workmen died and eight of the injured were in a serious condition.
It was not immediately known how many people were inside the building.
