A natural gas explosion killed one person and injured 11 today at a four-storey apartment building in Spain’s north-eastern Catalunya region.

A natural gas explosion killed one person and injured 11 today at a four-storey apartment building in Spain’s north-eastern Catalunya region.

The blast occurred while workers were trying to fix a leak in a gas pipe in a street in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, the Catalan government civil protection department said.

One of the workmen died and eight of the injured were in a serious condition.

It was not immediately known how many people were inside the building.
