Abbas hints he may postpone Palestinian vote

Palestinian parties launched their election campaign today, amid growing tensions between the Islamic militant group Hamas and Mahmoud Abbas over suggestions the Palestinian leader may postpone the January 25 vote.

Abbas said for the first time today that the vote could be put off if Israel bars voting in the sector of Jerusalem claimed by the Palestinians as a future capital.
