Two commuter trains collide in Istanbul

Two commuter trains collided in Istanbul today injuring at least six people, private CNN-Turk television said.

Authorities dispatched several ambulances to the crash site in the residential Bakirkoy district of Istanbul, the Anatolia news agency said.

One of the trains had stopped and the second train crashed into it from the back, said Uzeyir Ulker, a railway official.

Witnesses told CNN-Turk television that the first train stopped after hitting a teenager on the tracks, and Anatolia reported the teen was one of the injured.

CNN-Turk said the first train lacked a signalling device.
