Powerful quake rocks Indonesian island
A powerful earthquake rocked Indonesia’s Sulawesi island today, triggering panic among some residents, meteorological officials said. There were no immediate reports of damage.
The 6.3-magnitude quake was centred south of the city of Manado in northern Sulawesi, the meteorological agency in Jakarta said, adding it was too early to give an exact location.
A meteorological official in Manado said some people fled their homes when the quake struck.
