Finland: Seven soldiers wounded in grenade accident
Seven soldiers were injured during target practice when a grenade launcher was fired at a shooting range in northern Finland today.
“One of the grenade launchers exploded, injuring these men, but we don’t have any details as to the cause. We are now concentrating on providing medical first aid,” said Lt. Col. Aki Sihvonen.
The men, three of them seriously injured, were taken to nearby hospitals by helicopter.
The accident occurred during military exercises involving 3,000 personnel.
