Peres to make announcement on political future

Veteran Labour Party leader Shimon Peres is to make an announcement on his political future later today, his adviser said.

Peres is widely expected to announce he is leaving politics and will support Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, a one-time political rival, in the upcoming campaign for March 28 elections.
