Agreement sees Gaza-Egypt border crossing open

The main border from Southern Gaza into Egypt is to open today, following a deal brokered between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

The control of the Rafa Crossing is being transferred to the Palestinians for the first time in nearly 40 years, in a move that President Mahmoud Abbas has described as being important.
