Teacher killed in shooting at Turkish school
A student opened fire at a school in south-eastern Turkey today with an AK-47 assault rifle, killing a teacher, the local governor said.
Three students and one teacher were also wounded.
The student killed teacher Adnan Celik and wounded three students and a female teacher at the Yavuz Selim school in Nusaybin, which borders Syria, local governor Ersin Emiroglu of Nusaybin told the Anatolia news agency.
The wounded were in stable condition, Emiroglu said.
“Initial reports suggested that the teacher was attacked because of a past feud,” Emiroglu was quoted as saying.
Police captured the student who carried out the attack, said Governor Temel Kocaklar of Mardin province.
