Teacher reported killed in Turkey school shooting
A gunman opened fire at a school in south-east Turkey today, killing a teacher and wounding four students, private CNN-Turk television reported.
The gunman, reportedly a student, fired shots at the Yavuz Selim school in the town of Nusaybin, which borders Syria, CNN-Turk said.
The cause of the attack was under investigation, but police said preliminary reports indicated that it was criminal, not political.
Turkey’s south-east is the scene of bitter fighting between autonomy-seeking Kurdish guerillas and Turkish troops.
