Two suicide bombers detonated themselves inside a Shiite mosque in an Iraqi town near the Iranian border, killing about 30 people.

The suicide attackers targeted the Sheik Murad Shiite mosque in Khanaqin, 87 miles north-east of Baghdad, at 12.55pm local time as dozens of people were attending Friday prayers, police said.

No other details were immediately available.
