Chechnya’s prime minister has been admitted to hospital after a car crash in Moscow and is in a serious, but stable, condition, NTV television reported today.

Sergei Abramov, who is backed by Moscow, is the second most senior official in the Chechen administration.

The accident occurred when the car in which Abramov was travelling collided with a truck, NTV reported.
