A cache of 3,000 grenades, artillery shells and other bombs believed to have been left by Chinese forces at the end of the Second World War has been unearthed in a city in China’s north-east.

A cache of 3,000 grenades, artillery shells and other bombs believed to have been left by Chinese forces at the end of the Second World War has been unearthed in a city in China’s north-east.

The munitions were found at a construction site in the city of Changchun and are believed to have been left behind by Nationalist forces, which led China during the Second World War, The China Daily newspaper said.
