Sharon consults Likud Party on elections

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon consulted members of his Likud Party today about the possibility of holding an early election, and his foreign minister said Sharon was ready to set a date for March.

Early elections became an issue after the Laboyr Party, Sharon’s junior coalition partner, chose a new leader who said he would pull Labour out of the government.
