Rove 'will not be indicted today'

A person close to Karl Rove says the US presidential adviser will not be indicted today.

Presidential adviser Karl Rove won’t be indicted today as prosecutors and his lawyers try to resolve questions that have arisen in the CIA leak investigation, two people close to Rove told The Associated Press.

The White House, however, is bracing for an indictment against another top aide.

In discussions yesterday, Rove’s lawyer was told by prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald’s office that investigators have not resolved all their questions about his conduct in the case and will continue investigating.

Fitzgerald’s office indicated to Rove’s team they wanted to get some issues “resolved before he decides what he is going to do so Mr Rove will not be indicted today,” one of Rove’s team said.
